Concert Band

The Concert Band program is a core class of the band program curriculum.  There are two groups that make up the Concert Band program: Concert Band and Wind Ensemble.  Both sections meet together during 1st period (7:05-8:05am).  The Wind Ensemble is an Honors level section of Concert Band that is open to students by audition each spring.  Students who successfully audition into Wind Ensemble, receive honor credit for their work.

Students who wish to participate in any of the other band program ensembles (Marching Band, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble) must be enrolled in either Concert Band or Wind Ensemble as a prerequisite.  These two groups combine to represent our school as the NPHS Pep Band, performing at home football games, school rallies, and local community events.

In addition to Pep Band performances, the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble students put on 3-4 concerts per year in the Performing Arts Center (PAC), attend competitive music festivals throughout Southern California in the spring, often travel across the country in a Spring Tour, and perform at graduation.
